Open Enrollment for 2022 Health Coverage

Open Enrollment for 2022 health coverage has started.

For 2022 coverage, the Open Enrollment period began November 1, 2021, and closes at the end of the day on January 15, 2022. If you plan to sign up, be sure to complete your application and select your plan before Open Enrollment ends.

If you want coverage to take effect on January 1, be sure to sign up no later than December 15. If you sign up after December 15, your 2022 coverage will take effect on February 1.

Working with a local independent insurance agent will allow you to compare coverage options, benefits, and quality and determine which features are important to you.

What information do I need to enroll in a health insurance plan?

Being prepared for Open Enrollment is key. As your local independent insurance agent, I will make sure you have everything you need to enroll in the best Marketplace health plan for you.

Getting Ready to Enroll

To help you get started, here are a few tips to get you started:

Gather information regarding your household income.

To determine if you’re eligible for health savings, you will need income information from your W-2, current pay stubs, or your tax return.

Start setting a budget to spend on your premiums each month.

I will help you determine which health plan meets your families’ health needs and your budget requirements.

Find out if your employer offers health insurance.

If your employer offers you health coverage, you will not qualify for Marketplace coverage. However, your family members will still be eligible.

Benefits of Health Insurance Marketplace Coverage for 2022

The Marketplace lets you determine the correct combination of benefits and price that fits your budget and meets your needs.

  • Low Cost of Coverage – The Marketplace application process will determine if there are any additional ways to get lower monthly premiums with your current plan. You’ll also learn if you’re eligible for free or low-cost coverage through Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Program.
  • Essential Health Benefits – Doctor visits, preventive care, hospitalization, prescriptions, and more essential health benefits are covered under all plans.
  • Pre-Existing Conditions Covered – No longer worry about being denied coverage because of an existing condition. All pre-existing health conditions will be covered, including pregnancy or disability.
